They are skilled at using the rocket launchers, the crossbow and the gravity gun. This and their circle strafing make them very deadly. Guided missles are useful when you need to erase somebody in a inconvenient space. The gravity gun can pick up random objects and throw them at people. The crossbow is also one of the strongest weopons in the game, because you can snipe with it and make cheap shots with it.

- Thomas from Game Design B

Wonder Space

When I first found out that I was going to Wonderspace, I thought that it was going to be a camp where all the Star Wars obsessives were. But on my first day, I immediately started liking it and realized that I would have fun here making games. And it has been so fun that I am already signing up for another week!!!
My game was about zombies invading the earth. You are Area 51's secret weapon ROBO576, and throughout my game you are shooting zombies and aliens. At the end you battle this humongous boss, a dragon zombie. You can change the whole game by putting on cheats. There is a selection of weapons including the rocket launcher, cross bow, magnum, shot gun, and much more. This is kind of random but there is also Half Life EPI. 1 and 2. The best level in Death Match is Overwatch. There are great hiding spots and barricades inside biuldings. In some secret areas there is ammo and health packets or other objects. Another good map is Runoff. You can set off nucleare missles, and if you are not in the biulding you will get destroyedby them.

- by oliver w. from game design B

Camp is Fun

At camp I learned about Team Fortress 2. Here are the steps:

1. Buy a Mac (What now, Cheney?)

If your intellect is below par, however, and you suffer separation anxiety from your beloved Windows OS, then the following guide will help you (because I guarantee you, if you use PCs, you do need a terrible amount of help) select the best PC you possibly can, which, I'm afraid, will still be horrible when compared to macs sheer elegance and simplicity of a Mac. These are the following categories one should look into when buying their "ideal PC"(despite the fact that PCs are far from ideal).
-Hard Disk Drive
The Hard Disk drive is an essential part of the PC. It stores the operating system, files, and virtually all memory that helps the PC run the way it does. Although the amount of memory in the hard disk drive is important, the amount of pins, and thus the speed, is of equal, if not more importance than the capacity. Look for the speed of the drive and the Capacity.
-Microprocessor
If the Microprocessor is the brain of the computer, than the saying "Two heads are better than one" rings true. Intel's Core Duo processor is a best buy for power and compatibility. Because it has a dual core, it acts as two processors, therefore allowing a dual core processor with a low speed to have a higher performance than a single core processor with a slightly faster speed. e.g.: The Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T8300, with a clock speed of 2.40 GHz is more powerful than a single core processor with a clock speed of 3 GHz. Look for the Dual Core.
-Graphics card
It doesn't matter how fast the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) is if it has no place to store the images it creates. That is why when buying a good graphics card, Look for on-board Memory. (Also, look for quality, not quantity- one good, powerful graphics card is better than three weak ones)
-Ram
As with the Hard Drive, it does not matter how much information you can store if you cannot access it quickly. Look for Speed And Capacity.
-Disk Drive
Speed is also imporatant for the disk drive, but as for the model, the different types are not too important. As long as you find a good drive that can read and write disks, you're fine. If you want to go the extra mile, however, Find one that plays DVD and CD.
-Ports
Buy the most standardized ports (e.g. USB, Ethernet, etc.)
-OS
The different operating systems are designed for different usages, and depending on the work you want to pursue, research the pros and cons of each OS, Then decide. Some examples are Mac OS X, Windows Vista/XP, and Linux.

Modding Half-Life 2

My name is Stefan D. and this is my second summer at Wonder-Space. Today, I have been working on my custom-built levels for Half-Life 2. I added more rooms to a map I've been working on since the start of the week. I also made another map which consists of a small, breakable house over a lake of radioactive waste. Of course, we also spent plenty of time play-testing each other's maps. Here are a couple screen shots. Enjoy!
--Stefan
